Morsgail Lodge

Morsgail Lodge was completely refurbished to a very high standard in 2007.  Its spacious rooms can accommodate up to ten people in comfort.  The design is contemporary yet welcoming.

The main reception room overlooks Morsgail Loch, Scalaval Mountain and the distant Harris Hills.  While sitting here in comfort, absorbing spectacular views, Golden and White Tailed Eagles are regularly seen.  One day the Loch may be mirror calm, the air still and breathless; the next a blowing turmoil of spray and spume.  You will marvel at both.

If you are observant, with binoculars, you may see deer walking on Scalaval.

A second reception room has a flat screen TV and DVD for those who need to keep up to date with world news, or perhaps relax after an exhausting day on the hill.

The dining room boasts spectacular views of Morsgail Loch and beyond.  Here you will breakfast and dine, watching the ever changing views.

Group enjoys life at Morsgail

We have a gun and rod room, where you can leave your outdoor clothes and change for the Lodge.  Maps adorn the walls, showing fishermen where the fish lie or the best walks are to be found.

There are five comfortable bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms boasting large showers with abundant hot water.  Two of the bathrooms also have baths.  Three bedrooms have double beds and two are twin.  The settee in the TV room also converts into a double bed.

The lodge is usually let fully catered with the service of our Cook and Housekeeper.  The days start with cereals and a traditional cooked breakfast, followed by packed lunches, and end with dinner, where we focus on local produce and game.

If you are adventurous, you can stay in our primitive Bothy about 2 hours walk from the Lodge, on the Loch Resort estuary.  We have camp beds here for those who want to stay right away from civilisation. You could fish for salmon or sea trout and enjoy self sufficiency.
