Morsgail Estate is nearly 14000 acres of unspoilt wilderness. There are many places where you will be able to sit and wonder at the views without seeing any marks of man. No houses. No roads. No fences. Just as nature made her.
Other than the private road of about 1½ miles leading from the entrance to the Estate to the Lodge, there are no tracks on Morsgail, just a few traditional footpaths.
This Hebridean landscape seems at first barren and windswept, but on inspection bursts with flora and fauna. Rare heathers, orchids and mosses; otters, deer and eagles. Hills rise to nearly 2000 feet, set in low lying peat lands. Everywhere rocks protrude, rounded and scarred by glaciers long ago. |
