The Owners Story
I first visited the Outer Hebrides for my 50th Birthday in October 2004. Determined not to let this landmark pass quietly, I wanted to celebrate somewhere memorable with my closest family and friends and settled upon Amhuinnsuidhe Castle in Harris.
This plan was unquestionably a bit of a risk (in fact, a big risk), as none of us had ever been to Harris and not everybody in the party knew everyone else. Fortunately, the adventure was a great success, with lots of sunshine, walking, shooting, fishing , partying, laughing and drinking.
While stalking high in the Harris hills on Amhuinnsuidhe, my stalker gestured towards the North. As an eagle circled, I surveyed a vast, apparently barren, desolate, treeless land, rich in autumnal colours and illuminated by clear bright sunlight. He explained that the ground we gazed over was the finest small estate on the Island. Twinkling in the distance was a loch and with binoculars I could just make out a house sitting on the water’s edge. He was pointing towards Morsgail.
The following year I stayed with my family on another Estate and this time we stalked on Morsgail. While walking the hills, I realised that what I'd been told the previous autumn was true; this was a wonderful, unspoilt place, rich in wildlife and remaining much as it would have been thousands of years ago. |

I discovered that the Estate might be for sale and shortly after Morsgail became my responsibility.
I hope you enjoy the Estate as much as I do
